Why I Chose Photography — And Why I Keep Choosing It
It’s been ten years since I picked up a camera professionally, but in many ways, photography found me long before that. From the beginning, I was drawn to the way a single image could hold emotion, context, and story—sometimes even more clearly than words. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to turn that fascination into a career, working with corporations, schools, and organizations to help them tell their stories with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.
But photography isn’t just a job for me—it’s a calling. For more than five years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching photography to young people in Baltimore. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. I believe in the power of art to change lives. When I step into a classroom, I see potential and possibility in every student. I want them to know that their perspective matters, and that they can use a camera to express, to question, and to create something lasting.
Giving back to my community is at the heart of what I do. I love capturing professional moments—whether it’s a school portrait, a corporate headshot, or a bustling event—but what keeps me grounded is the chance to make a difference while doing what I love. Baltimore has shaped me, and I want my work to contribute to its growth and future.
Photography continues to teach me how to see the world—and more importantly, how to listen. That’s why I keep choosing it. Every time I lift my camera, I’m reminded: this is where purpose and passion meet.
